Seek

I want you near, yet I am unwilling to pause to seek. I shout, “Where are you, my Lord” but fail to still to listen to the quiet voice within. How can I come before the King, when I am still dancing in His courtyard? 

7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

Reset my heart, oh Lord, let the compass of my life always lead to you. Let me stand firm amidst the shiny distractions of this world, being rooted in the Word of God and granted salvation through the shed blood of Jesus. At this moment, I pause, breathe deeply, and seek you, Lord. -Amen
