Sinners like ME

This has been on my heart the last few days and I wanted to share. Many gather the courage to go to Church and instead of the welcoming embrace of brothers and sisters in Christ they face condemnation which frankly should be a Four-letter word, but unfortunately, it has far too many letters. Jesus had no fear of sinners, he sat with them, he ate with them (Mark 2:15-16). How can they ever get well if all we do is poke a stick into their wounds? Love the sinner, not the sin, pray like lives depend on it, they just might. But do not reject someone who still struggles with sin, big or small. We all sin and we are all worthy of the agape love of God (John 3:16). Jesus said it best in when being questioned as to why he would associate with sinners

Mark 2:17 When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physicians, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Heavenly Father, I ask for forgiveness for the times I have judged others. Thank you for your sacrifice Jesus and the weighty gift of salvation through you. I ask for a special blessing on anyone reading this who feels the sting of rejection. They are worthy and loved beyond measure. May they find strength and comfort in your Word and the courage to try again. Open doors for them Father, let them feel your love, grace, and mercy. In Jesus’ name, I pray.

-Amen
