Let your light shine

I have been thinking often about the invisible struggles of others. It is difficult to forge a deep meaningful connection with every human that crosses our paths. We have all felt the sting of heartbreak, the grief of loss, and the crushing weight of the world on our shoulders. Believers or not, we are all the beloved children of God.

The next time someone cuts you off in traffic and you are tempted to wave with less than five fingers, or someone lets their anger boil and you take the heat, or fails to return your hospitality before you act pause to think. Think of the sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross, the suffering He endured for each of us, and the priceless gift of salvation through Him. Then smile and pray for them. Your simple act of kindness may plant a seed, a seed that may someday yield a bountiful harvest for our Lord. They may not remember the encounter, but God can use it.

16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Matthew 5:16 NKJV

I am sorry God for the times I judged myself and others harshly, the times I did not extend the grace to others that you have lavished on me. The times I have been too busy to wave, smile, and show the love of Jesus to my brothers and sisters in this fallen world. I will use this day to show others through my actions Your love for them. You are the God that turns darkness into light (Psalms 18:28). Let my light bring You all the glory, God! -Amen

May the words that flow from me Lord be filled with Your message and when I am obedient may they be backed by the Holy Spirit. When I serve righteously let none of the words, I utter in praise of You fall to the ground. Help me to craft every word, may they pierce hearts and refresh weary souls. This gift is Yours; God I simply aim to use it for your glory.
