Starring role, an unappreciated mom

The wise woman builds her house, but the foolish pulls it down with her hands.

Proverbs 14:1 NKJV

This Proverb stands out, it is rare as it is describing female behavior. I can easily envision what the destruction of a home looks like as described “with her hands.” I see conflict, bitterness, resentment tearing at the house’s walls.

If I do not focus on the bigger picture, I tend to throw myself a pity party with the starring role, an unappreciated mom. I can search for and find countless examples to validate this opinion. Soon I am bitter, resentful, and unhappy. Instead of building my house, I am pulling it down with my own hands.

Lord forgive me for the times I took my eyes off you and embraced negativity and frustration. I know the value of my role and the importance you God have placed on this season. Help me to be like the wise woman in Proverbs 14:1 who builds her house.

I ask for a special blessing to cover any mothers who are struggling let them feel Your presence and remind them of their value. Give them precious moments of peace where they can catch their breath and hear Your Word. In Your name Jesus, I pray, Amen.
