My children love taking our metal detector out on our property to look for and discover buried treasure. The raw joy that washes over their faces as the beeping grows louder and more consistent is priceless. Just as we have located the spot a flurry of digging begins. They wonder loudly and speculate what it might be. The excitement is contagious.
The Bible is not just a relic, it is a living document, a compass, a framework for your life. Every verse has practical applications, even if it is just to say, do not travel this path! Do you read the Bible like my children hunt buried treasure in our pasture? We all should!
All the flesh is as grass,
1 Peter 24-25 NKJV
And all the glory of man as the flower
of the grass.
The grass withers,
And its flower falls away,
But the word of the LORD endures forever.
May the Holy Spirit guide me during my time in scripture, help me to see what is buried. Help me study the Word with fresh eyes. Let me hunt scripture like buried treasure and find understanding in this sacred text, for the word of God endures forever.
May grace and peace be with you. -Amen
