Come here and let me love you!

After a tragic ending to our most difficult lambing season on record, I was struggling to gain the motivation to rise this morning. I was in bed listening to worship music when I heard my 7-year-old daughter get up. I called her into my bedroom and asked her if she would snuggle with me. We are not a very snuggly family, but she gladly obliged, and as we snuggled and giggled it progressed into a round of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as most close contact in our Jiu-Jitsu family does. She giggled and pinned me down, sitting on my stomach with a huge smile. I said, “come here, and let me love you” as I pulled her into a bear hug. I felt those words echo back to me, Jesus pulling my resisting body into an embrace and saying, “come here, let me love you, it’s okay, you can never leave my love behind.” I want to resist, to be strong, but I’m not strong, I am weak.

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

2 Corinthians 12:9-11 NIV

I don’t have to have it all together, Christ does! He will equip me, when I am weak His power rests on me all I need to do is surrender, go to Him, and let Him love me.

Jesus, I fall at your feet, I am weak my Lord use me as a vessel fill my cup with your grace, mercy, and love. Let my footing be secure in you. Holy, Holy is the Lord. -Amen
