The eyes of the Lord are everywhere,
Proverbs 15:3 NIV
keeping watch on the wicked and the good.
It might not always feel as though God is in control. Spend 24 hours watching the news; it can be a struggle to find the hand of God in the rubble of this World. Our minds are overstimulated. We can stockpile knowledge by harnessing the search engine of our choosing, yet waste hours of this one precious life scrolling social media immersed in the lives of others.
We open the fridge countless times a day, but how much time do we spend in the Bible (Pastor Tim Moen paraphrase). I could feel guilty, content to dwell on my failings, for there are many. I see this image in my mind of a majestic lighthouse buffered by fog and surrounded by vicious waves smashing its base. It is unfazed by the attack, does not budge, and its spotlight continues to seek. Just as the eyes of the Lord are everywhere, all-knowing, all-seeing.
When I stumble as I often do, the spotlight of God seeks me, the light landing on my back, I can repent and rise again with His strength. His strength! Once again, I fix my eyes upon the mighty lighthouse of Jesus guiding me home.
May the mighty beacon of Jesus Christ our Savior find you today, strengthen you and bring you peace and perseverance to follow Him. Abide in Him, release guilt at the Cross, and proudly serve your King.
He is the Light, our beacon, walk with Him today.
